In January, TCMA changed from a group practice model to a traditional format. This means more individualized training and time with the instructor. The class is now limited to 12 students. In any given month there will be 2 to 4 openings for new members.
In April, TCMA hosted our 15th annual World Tai Chi Qigong Day gathering at The Woodlands Recreation Center, Rob Fleming.
Sifu Neighbors was one of the featured speakers at the Adaptive Technology Conference in Austin, Texas in June. He spoke about tai chi and how it is adapted for people with disabilities. Sifu Neighbors will also be presenting to the TWC in July about qigong and stress.
TCMA welcomes Chambers Creek Resort Community to our tai chi family. Located in Willis, Texas, Chambers Creek is offering the Exercise with Tai Chi class on Tuesday evening at the Summit. Classes are taught by Master Kathy Neighbors and Sifu David Neighbors.
The kung fu program is going through a major change. We hope to move to a private and semi-private lesson model by the end of 2024. Class will be 45 minutes of focused training.
This fall, TCMA will celebrate 25 years of teaching tai chi, qigong, and kung fu in Montgomery county. We also celebrate the many years of free classes at The Canopy, Memorial Herman Hospital and the Conroe Senior Center.
