How long does it take to learn tai chi?

How long does it take to make black belt?
Belts are not normally used in tai chi. Students can test for color sashes in the kung fu programs. Ranking is not a major part of our program. The focus is not making rank but learning the material. A student can test for blackbelt once they demonstrate knowledge of the history of the styles, all techniques and forms. This can be done with a minimum of 350 hours of instruction.
Are discounts or free training available?
Every attempt is made to keep the cost as low as possible. In the past 24 years, TCMA has only raised the cost of training twice. After adjusting for inflation, we are charging only $4.00 more than the fee in 1999. We do not require testings, workshops, tournaments or special uniforms. The going national rate for training, twice a week, is $150.00 to $200.00 a month. Programs like the Recreaction Center charges from $0.00 to $100.00 a month. Our fees are more than fair. You may request current pricing through the contact us page or check the current Recreation Center Action Guide
